The Erie Parking Authority is a Municipal Authority whose purpose is to provide parking to the citizens of the City of Erie at a fair rate and in a safe and convenient environment. Our intent is to supervise, operate, and administer an efficient, coordinated system of both on-street regulated parking and off-street facilities as needed to develop and maintain the integrity of the City of Erie.
Incorporated in 1951, the Authority is governed by a 5 member Board appointed by the Mayor of the City of Erie. Board members serve five year terms and are not compensated. The Board meets twelve times a year on the second Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. in the Parking Authority’s Main Office.
The Authority facilities consist of nine (9) parking garages totaling 4,449 spaces and seven (7) surface lots with 503 spaces. With respect to on street parking, the Authority manages 1,400 metered spaces.
Three major highways, Interstates 79, 90 and 86, are located in Erie County. Business and industry rely on these roadways to reach Pittsburgh and other major cities in Pennsylvania, as well as cities in nearby Ohio and New York.

There is no shortage of options in Erie County for businesses that need to transport their goods by rail. For your personal enjoyment or your business trip with destinations such as New York City, N.Y. or Chicago, ILL, Amtrak provides passenger services.

The Cultural Loop The downtown "Cultural Loop" will provide Saturday evening services from 5PM - 11PM to arts and cultural venues.
The Port of Erie is located on the southeast of Lake Erie in a natural bay formed and sheltered by Presque Isle, Pennsylvania. Erie´s harbor entrance channel is 29 feet deep. The Port of Erie and O-N Minerals Erie offer cargo shippers on the Great Lakes/Seaway System the finest facilities available. With 85 million people within a 500 mile radius, Port Erie is at the hub of the US and Canadian Industrial Center.
