Mayor Sinnott recently met with students from the Emerson-Gridley CHAMPS Afterschool Enrichment Program, which is under the direction of Ms. Jane Ross. The CHAMPS program provides a safe, challenging and fun learning experience for Erie’s youth as they develop social, emotional, physical, cultural and academic skills. The students are currently learning about careers and were presented with the opportunity to ask questions of the Mayor. Click here for photos.

REthink Erie is an unprecedented collaboration among the business, government, economic development and philanthropic communities to aggressively address our region’s workforce development challenges and evaluate the opportunities associated with, and the viability of, creating a community college to serve northwestern Pennsylvania. The initiative's focus will be RElearning, REtooling, REworking and REeducating to meet the changing needs of people, business and industry in the region.

City Treasurer Susan E. DiVecchio, would like to notify the City of Erie Taxpayers of a temporary extension of office hours on Wednesdays. Starting February 11, 2009 thru April 29, 2009 the City Treasurer’s Office will extend office hours Wednesdays only until 7:00 PM. More details here.
